About Me
Thank you for visiting my website! My name is Trent Chapman & I want to tell you a little about myself. I’m currently working as a Project Facilitator at the Monterey Bay Aquarium where my passion for positively impacting the environment around me can thrive.
I owe much of my professional journey to my degree in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. This education laid the foundation for my career, enabling me to focus strongly on project management. I started as a Construction Manager in the Bay Area for Psomas (previously the Covello Group) where I worked with various water & wastewater treatment plants on mainly capital improvement projects. From there, I chose to invest in my hands-on skills by becoming an operator at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Here, I learned to operate & maintain the “life support equipment” at the facility - this included all the mechanical equipment that keeps the animals alive. This work was ultra-rewarding & I got to be up close and personal with the animals. Ask me about saving a baby seagull from the 4-story roof of the aquarium while fending off its relatives with an umbrella.
While being an operator gave me a microscopic view of our systems, when I was offered the job of a Project facilitator I was able to to broaden my perspective. Transitioning from an operator to a project facilitator meant stepping into a role where I could not only see the bigger picture but also shape the direction of a wide variety of projects. I was able to once again thrive on the challenges that come with overseeing a wide variety of projects — with sustainability at the forefront. I'm dedicated to applying my skills and expertise to make a difference, ensuring that each project goes smoothly but also contributes to long-term environmental responsibility. This shift allowed me to combine my passion for problem-solving with my commitment to creating meaningful, lasting impact across the organization.
Whether it's optimizing systems, troubleshooting, or leading projects that promote water conservation and environmental stewardship, I'm always eager to take on new opportunities and contribute to the betterment of this planet.
Thank you for visiting my website, where I'll be sharing insights, experiences, and projects related to water treatment and project management. I invite you to join me on this journey of discovery and innovation as we work towards a more sustainable and environmentally-conscious future.
